Model Variation and this setting aren't gonna crash your game, i already test it many time until now. Like in the Q & A i put in the description, it might be the other mod that make the Model Variation crashed.

This mod was made with custom handling lines in mind, and they are written in readme file. Because SAMP does not support loading custom handling lines (it will load default ones instead), I will not make Multiplayer-friendly version of it. And I don't play SAMP anymore to focus on car mods with custom handling lines.
It would actually work in MTA, but if you want me to make SAMP-friendly version, then don't expect me to do so.

Why do you even need 2 ini files? If you have your own modified "ModelVariations_Vehicles.ini" you can copy this line and paste it below your own modified "ModelVariations_Vehicles.ini" just like this :

Model Variations поддерживает одновременное использование нескольких файлов через modloaader? можно было бы просто использовать несколько INI сразу, просто проверив есть ли вылет, если крашит значит надо смотреть

Sorry, I think i just misunderstand the setting. The "ExcludeModelsFromInheritance=" mean's that if you put some ID there (Like this "ExcludeModelsFromInheritance=596,597,598,599,490,497,472,432,433") their characteristics like sub-mission for cop car, occupant models (their driver and passenger i think), etc will retain as it is. So its not gonna crash your game.
